ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY

Safety, Our Top Priority

Safety has always been our top priority. How we definite it evolves as our business continues to grow.

We’ve grown from a recycling and waste company to include environmental solutions and sustainability innovation. As we offer more services and handle more complex waste streams, we must operate in a way that keeps our employees, customers and communities safe.

We’re focusing on Environment, Health and Safety all together - helping ensure a safer, healthier future for all.

Emergency Response

Protecting People, Property and the Environment

When an emergency occurs on land or in the water, the environment may be at risk. Our specialized teams provide a single-source solution to help protect people, property and the environment.

We operate 50 land-based and 15 marine-based response teams throughout North America. These crews help mitigate environmental incidents for our customers, including oil spills, chemical releases, train derailments, tanker truck accidents, as well as natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires.

Protecting the Yellowstone River

When a freight train derailed on a bridge crossing the Yellowstone River in Montana, the bridge collapsed, and 10 tanker cars carrying asphalt materials landed in the river. More than 150 members of our Emergency Response team deployed to the scene to assist with the cleanup operation. Over a two-month period, our crews logged more than 30,000 miles in a 121-mile stretch of the river to remove over 230,000 pounds of asphalt.
