Republic Services’ facilities are highly engineered, secure, RCRA Subtitle C landfills, featuring multiple-liner cell design and post-closure funding. Our national high-capacity, high-volume radioactive waste disposal sites and facilities are rail and truck served.
Professional Services
Our expert teams provide guidance and assistance for proper characterization and sampling methods to verify waste meets our waste acceptance criteria (WAC). We also evaluate available treatment and disposal options based on waste characterization and assist in development of an aggregation plan, if required, to comply with the WAC requirements at our RCRA Subtitle C facilities.

- DOT Class 7 shippers available for project support at customer sites
Technical Project Management and Onsite Support
- Review characterization data, waste profiles, shipping documents, or any other applicable documents to ensure compliance with WAC requirements at Republic Services disposal facilities
- Ensure waste is loaded/packaged in compliance with WAC requirements
Health Physics / Radiological Engineering Support
- Radiological Dose Assessments in support of Alternate Disposal Authorizations under 10 CFR §20.2002 and Releases from Radiological Control under DOE Order 458.1
- Radiation modeling of shipping containers and packages using Microshield code to ensure WAC compliance at USE Facilities
- Environmental and site post-closure dose modeling and evaluations using GoldSim and RESRAD platforms
Radioactive Materials License
Authorized to perform decontamination and waste packaging activities at customer sites for licensed radioactive materials.
