The Latest Updates
We empathize with our customers and communities affected by Teamsters Local 25’s work stoppage. We are working hard to continue providing service, and our collection operations continue to improve. Operationally we have the ability to service 100% of our Boston customers, but the union has been and continues to actively block our trucks, as seen in the video here.
- Today, our collection trucks are servicing all municipalities, including Beverly, Canton, Danvers, Gloucester, Ipswich, Lynnfield, Malden, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, North Reading, Peabody, Swampscott, Wakefield and Watertown.
- We are committed to providing service for all of our customers as we continue discussions with the union to reach an agreement.
- Many customers are on a modified service schedule.
- Waste collection routes are being prioritized over recycling routes at this time.

Why Service Has Been Affected
- Many of our Greater Boston customers are on a modified trash and recycling collection service schedule because of the recent work stoppage called by the local union that represents many of our area employees.
- We respect the rights of our employees to engage in collective bargaining and are committed to meeting the service needs of all our Republic Services communities.
- As we prioritize routes to continue collection for all affected customers, we apologize for the disruption and thank you for your patience.
