Our local teams have supported multiple projects for our NNP grant recipients through volunteer efforts. Some recent projects include:
- Wilmington, DE: Helping a local neighborhood, our team volunteered with
Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County to support a community cleanup as a part of its Rock the Block community projects. The event was the first of three projects that will be completed in the next year thanks to a National Neighborhood Promise grant. Volunteers cleaned up waste and debris within a six-block radius of Johnston Park. Cleveland, OH: Our team partnered withCHN Housing to support a critical housing project. CHN Housing leveraged the grant along with other investments to complete projects atHarper’s Pointe , a permanent supportive housing development that offers more than 70 one-bedroom apartments to those in need. In July, Republic team members volunteered to help revitalize the outdoor spaces at the facility by building a tool shed, raised garden bed, and completing other cleanup projects.Moline, IL: In partnership withHabitat for Humanity Quad Cities, local Republic volunteers helped complete exterior improvements to 13 properties in the Floreciente neighborhood in Moline, Illinois, as a part of the organization’s Rock the Block improvement project. For two days, volunteers painted fences, porches and foundations, and helped with yard cleanups in the neighborhood. The project supported the revitalization of properties that surround the community’s streetscape plan.
